Tuna, Avocado and Kiwi Sushi Roll Recipe

This one-of-a-kind sushi roll combines tuna's rich flavor with avocado's creamy texture and kiwi's refreshing sweetness.

  • Cook Time: 20 minutes
  • Total Time: 55 minutes

Instructions

  • Drain the sushi rice after rinsing it in a strainer until the water runs clear.
  • In a medium pot, bring the rice and 1 1/4 cups of water to a boil over high heat.
  • Reduce the heat to low, cover, and allow to cook for 18 minutes.
  • Remove the rice from the heat and set aside for 10 minutes, covered.
  • Whisk together the rice vinegar, sugar, and salt in a small bowl until the sugar and salt are dissolved.
  • When the rice has slightly cooled, stir in the vinegar mixture until it is coated and glossy.
  • Place a sheet of nori, shiny side down, on a sushi mat or plastic wrap.
  • Half of the rice should be evenly distributed over the nori, leaving a 1-inch border at the top edge.
  • Place half of the tuna, avocado, and kiwi slices on top of the rice.
  • Tightly roll the sushi away from you with the sushi mat or plastic wrap, using the border at the top edge to seal the roll.
  • Make a second roll with the remaining ingredients.
  • Serve each roll cut into 8 pieces right away.
